Originally airing from 1968 to 1971, "Mayberry RFD" was produced as a spin-off continuation of The Andy Griffith Show. Most of the supporting characters returned for the retitled program, which ran for a total of 3 seasons and 78 episodes. The series follows widower farmer, Sam Jones, who's head of town council, along with his young son, Mike Jones, and Aunt Bee as their housekeeper. Loyal Mayberry citizens, Goober Pyle, Emmett Clark, Howard Sprague, and others are seen regularly. Sheriff Andy Taylor remains Mayberry's sheriff, but plays more of a background role in the series. Throughout the characters adventures, they encounter a variety of now classic cars. Today, we're taking a look at the cars of, "Mayberry RFD". Let's begin.

Can't wait for season 3. Aunt Bea drove her very own 1966 Studebaker Daytona 2 door onto the set. She was a lifelong Studebaker owner She had a driver, but it is seen in several scenes, even tho Chrysler sponsored the program.

I am glad to hear you call the 1961 Comet a Comet and not a Mercury Comet as I am also glad to hear you refer to the Imperial as just Imperial and not Chrysler Imperial.

Mayberry went from the land of Fords to town of MoPars. Those ‘68-‘69 Satellites & Coronets were handsome cars. Jodi Foster’s older brother Buddy played Mike Jones. CBS was wise to do the ‘rural purge’ in 1971.😊

The switch from Ford to Mopar is almost as jarring as the one from B&W to color.

Ford was the supplier of automobiles for the 1st 8 seasons. When it became Mayberry RFD, Chrysler was the supplier.

Thanks Fusion Kidd …… how about the cars from the movie Bullitt ? Lots of cars ….there’s a white Austin Healy 3000 that shows up at least 3 times ….and then there’s the green Volkswagen.

I guess that Mayberry RFD is the only show you could do that Ken Berry starred in. I don't think you would have much material with F Troop Fusion Kidd!😆

well it seems obvious that Ford sponsored the Andy Griffith show, it seems Chrysler sponsored Mayberry RFD

Could that Dart wagon really pull a horse trailer with a horse in it?🤔

2:20 I might be wrong but if it was a '68 it would have the newly mandated side marker lights. I'm guessin' '67? Either way you never see any mid to late '60's Dodge p/u 's anywhere anytime, even at MOPAR shows.5:17 wonder if he'll show them how to park a car in the courthouse😀?

Nice touch on not calling the 1961 Comet a Mercury, that didn't come until 1962. Andy driving a Mopar? Kind of jarring.

That is NOT a 1965 Dodge D100 truck. It is most probably a 1967. The 1965 still had the "smiley" type of grille introduced in the new 1961 Sweptline truck. I had a 1965 Dodge truck.
Where's Ain't B's Studebaker, which was her own personal car, in real life, which she owned until her passing?
