John Deere 9RX vs Case IH Steiger Quadtrac: Which Is Better?

In this episode, we put two of the most popular 4-track tractors head-to-head: the John Deere 9RX and Case IH Steiger Quadtrac Series. Matt Jr. quickly compares the engine, transmission, weight, hydraulics, tracks, lighting, and cab on these two tractors.

[Note: This video was produced before the announcement of the Model Year 2024 Case IH Steiger 715 Quadtrac. The 715 will now be the highest horsepower offering in this series. For the 9RX, despite prototype photos circulating, we cannot speculate as to what horsepower additions are coming. Stay tuned for future tractor comparisons!]

I’m a Deere guy a lot of the way but I have to give up to Case when it comes to their Steiger series. I think that this was not a fair fight, get as close as possible models and a guy from Case to come out as well to explain their model. also take into consideration Cases new series that provides overall bigger machine. As a Deere guy I’m happy to have competition like this as hopefully this pushes John Deere corporate a little further.

Sooo many questions why didn’t u show how far the seat swivels in the case? Why didn’t you show how u never haveto move your hand from the throttle in the case where u can raise/lower implement, autosteer engage, forward/reverse button, as well as customize buttons. You want to switch me to a deere your gona haveto show me more than taller tracks and bogey wheels closer to the ground 😂

Once you put the case in gear you can change directions on the control arm or throttle. Plus with that John Deere motor I heard they have problems with cracked heads. That throttle slash control arm on the case is awesome.

Once the column lever is in forward or reverse you can easily change the forward or reverse direction on the throttle lever without touching the lever on the column you didn’t see the up and down arrows ? Might wanna let someone familiar with the Case tractor run their tractor just saying.

Good job in comparing the two tractors! Worked on farm equipment all my working years and if I was a Farmer I would buy a John Deere track tractor. I would go with LSW tires instead of tracks. I see what the huge amount of money Farmers have to stick into tracks for maintenance, plus at the time of purchase tractor tracks are $50, 000 each! 😳 Plus they are very heavy and have a slow road speed! Those are just my thoughts, to each there own.
