I Loved Sleeping Dogs and really wanted a sequel to it but it was seen as a failure

Don't forget that 2013's Tomb Raider was considered a failure by SquareEnix because it didn't meet their sales predictions. Fans were freaking out that there wouldn't be a sequel

Maybe publishers should stop dumping hundreds of millions of dollars purely into marketing and should stop having unrealistically high expectations for sales. If you think that >3 million sales is considered a failure just because of sheer greed, then you're in the wrong business. If you *_really_* want astronomical amounts of money, go into a life if crime.

The darkness ... i really loved the two games, it was something new and it had such a fantastic story, but after the second game, everything went silent regarding the game.
it is really sad, instead of getting good games like back in the days, we get the same garbage over and over again.

Microtransactions, preorder bullshit, chopping up games and trying to sell it piece by piece, overbloated budgets, taking the safe bet (rehashing the same shit over and over) rather than improve and add more features that people want.

And most important of all: the people financing these games think that if they don't get at least 3x the amount they put in then it isn't worth it.

This practice will die out and when it does hopefully the AAA companies will learn from this idiocy and do a hard reset.

I used wish Bioware would make another single player Star Wars Old Republic, but i doubt they'd do that because the MMO probably makes EA far more money. Also Bioware as a developer ahs gone downhill since i last dreamed of KoToR 3.

I suppose another franchise i'd like to see revived despite it not being financially viable is a sequel to Sleeping Dogs. I was so burned out and bored of Open world titles like GTA and Ubisoft's recycled formulas. But Sleeping Dogs offered a unique location, addictive combat system, and pretty interesting characters.

I'm guessing it must not have sold GTA level copies or something, though i personally found it more enjoyable than that franchise. :(

I'm a massive fan of Dead Space, got all the games including the spin-offs, books/comics, statues etc and it still pisses me off that I'll never see what happens next after the finale of DS3's DLC chapter.
