There has to be an external threat or problem of some kind, it keeps the people at home from thinking about the horrible corruption and incompetence at home.

I think it's largely an over reach and counter productive to local stability. I think it's pushing away it's neighbor diplomatically into the arms of India and the west, and actually causing military tensions with countries that seem like natural allies. I often wonder if it isn't just a nationalist plan to maintain growth, a misallocated project when they're trying to build a lot of stuff, that seems valuable militarily, but is incapable of stopping the tsunami it could cause in political and geopolitical turmoil with the tensions it creates.

I love that they're doing these videos, but the big numbers are distracting. You don't have to time yourself with big numbers. I trust you. Plus if I want to see that you're doing it in 60 seconds, I can just check the bar at the bottom.

Have someone debunk the "tobacco wage gap" that they've started putting out commercials about in New York, and presumably elsewhere. The study that claim comes from is reminiscent of the source of the women's wage gap Christina Hoff Sommers tackles so well

same argument apply to USA stance in SCS

What does USA want in SCS?

USA may stage blockage against Taiwan, South Korea, Japan etc....

For some reason I thought it was all bout oil in the SCS. I think that there were some undeveloped fields near the Philippines that should technically belong to them by the 200 mile rule that China was stealing with this action. But controlling the region sounds good too.

China claim is quite legitimate as compared to European claims over Australia, Falkland islands, Reunion island etc....

Those islands are much closer to Non European people than European.

European claim is vague.
