Yup most everyone wakes up when the power outage effects a fare portion of the community. My old high school teacher explained this way. He said that our 3 faze A/c system gives the body an extra EM field which suppress our natural field. When that un-natural field collapses our bodies em field extends out futher. This is what caused us to wake up as that switch is kinda like going from solar to power company source. Apparently our natural field is much stronger when its not getting suppressed by our power gride. He studied it in college apparently.
He was an awesome science teacher.

Quick correction. During the Cold War, we had Ground Launched Cruise Missiles (GLCM) stationed on UK and elsewhere. Our deterrent was pretty diverse with GLCMs and Pershing missiles in Europe. Treaties took all those away, which is why putting Typhon and Dark Eagle in Europe gets people so excited.

We have been in solar Max, it's an 11 year cycle, and we are actually on the way back down now. Cycle 25 means nothing any different than other cycles. Grand minimum would be more worth talking about. Even during solar minimum, we could have a CME take out the power grid. It only takes one and that one can happen at any moment. The weakening magnetic field, that started weakening since around 1859, is the real story, besides the solar micro nova, which will be way worse than a strong CME. But, I'll listen anyway.
