I remember when Vehicle Simulator used to be so popular and the reason why it got less popular was because of the exploiters ruining the game and SimBuilder not doing anything about the exploiters, the game got less and less popular and as of now, SimBuilder has been arrested for carrying weapons in his car during that convention he tried sneaking into

Vehicle Simulator… never thought I’d ever hear someone say that name. It was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE game to play back in 2020! I played it every day for months and I remember when it used to have 5K+ players daily, would always be on the front pages, had car meets, even roleplays rom time to time. It even had a DeLorean 🙀!!! The game was something else at the time, and was super fun for everyone who played it. But then Simbuilder released the update. A new map (One which I personally disliked) and car models which a lot of people agreed were horrible. If that update was never released, maybe the game would still have a chance today. I still play it sometimes, but I always get reminded of the update that ruined its reputation as one of the best driving games at the time. Hopefully it comes back one day, even though that definitely won’t happen. Thanks for reminding me of such a great game. (Please don’t say “I ain’t readin’ allat” 🙏😭)

Edit: So Simbuilder was arrested in 2023 for bringing a gun to RDC. No wonder there hasn't been updates. Now there's pretty much no possibility of the game ever reviving 😔

Edit 2: So apparently he’s out of jail now and going to be working on Vehicle Simulator again, and also made it open source for people who want to do whatever with the game files 🔥🔥

Driving Simulator was insanely well optimized, reflecting its high player cap, which was hard to come across at the time. It's a huge shame that it died off like it did.

Drive City's circuit races were actually very good, and you could hand anyone's rear to them if they weren't built for the race at hand, which I frickin ADORED. You have no idea how good it felt to beat a Ferrari in a Camaro. It's even worse that it had to be closed down as a whole, as opposed to just losing popularity.

Finally, I was an alpha tester for Vehicle Simulator, and it fell off REALLY hard. Vehicle Simulator completely fell apart after the Hot Wheels event with the introduction of freebie cars like the tub rod, ruining the balancing and encouraging players to only race at the airport with top-tier cars to get tons of cash. On top of that you could NEVER find anyone to do races that involved cornering, unless it was the highway race which only took wall-riding to complete. In a way, Vehicle Simulator destroyed itself thanks to both the community AND SimBuilder's decisions. Don't get me wrong, that also sucks, but it was time for it to be put out of its misery at that rate.

An honorable mention, however, should be REV//. It's insanely obscure as of right now, but the physics were immaculate, the driving felt SO good, the cars were completely original, and now literally nobody is playing it and that makes me sad.

I played Vehicle Simulator back when the game was in its earlier development stages in 2015. I'd be the only one playing for days at a time sometimes. Every vehicle was spawned not through U.I, but by those old purple spawner blocks that we all know and love from old Roblox. The community was really chill and SimBuilder was more community focused back then. It's heartbreaking to see how one of my old classic favorites got basically swept up by money and greed. The map from back then was a small city with a mountain to the side, and a large highway surrounding it. Was truly a lot of fun.

I was an Alpha player for Vehicle Simulator, so I've made quite a number of memories in that game. I remember the discord server being so active at the time, even Simbuilder was on there.

I'm pretty sure the downfall of the game started when Simbuilder started adding fictional-looking cars, and started to replace the existing real-looking ones as well. Customization of VS was peak at the time, camber, wheels, wraps, you name it.

He kinda broke the suspension system at some point and never tried bothering to fix it. People complained about that, cars being changed, and newer cars not looking too good.

People held on to that for a while, but soon enough the playerbase gradually decreased, and new, better-feeling games were released with models that looked a hundred times better.

That's what probably killed the Simbuilder the community knew.

I've followed him over the years on Twitter and it was sad to see what eventually spiralled him to madness. He kept posting about cryptic stuff that didn't make sense at all, and just straight out lazed from even updating the game.

He continued to claim about having so many ideas about the game and whatnot, but none of those came into fruition.

The community just collapsed eventually and here we are.

It was a good run, can't lie.
It's just a bit sad on how much potential the game had especially with its reputation. If only it was acquired by big publishers at the time. Unfortunately, it was already way behind the things we had.

I used to watch ethangamerTV play vehicle simulator back in 2018 - 2021. Oh the nostalgia is kicking in..

2015 Roblox and 2016 Roblox is extremely memorable. I was in 9th grade grinding roblox games in the library. Like everyday i remember. 🤣

Vehical sim was just an emotion, hoppin on with the boys with vc.
So sad they just left it mid way, it had potential to shift the tide of roblox racing games, man i miss this game .
