Touratech Pannier Racks Installation: BMW R1300GS

This video shows you how to install Touratech Pannier Racks for Zega hard panniers or soft panniers from Touratech and many other brands.

If you ride the BMW R1300GS that came with Vario Pannier Racks this video will show you how to uninstall those racks and hide the electrical cord that connects to them.

This pannier rack attaches at existing frame points on the bike and does not require any drilling or cutting to install. Touratech's tough, cross-braced rack system acts like an additional subframe, strengthening the rear of the bike, and in some cases acts like a rear crash bar.

Well, that was easy enough. A few notes:

It requires more work to unplug the Vario wires. A few more bolts to undo to lower the tail section. There’s also some tight zip ties to snip off.

TT does include two bolts to fill in the Vario bolts that are removed from the bottom of the bike. Thank you.

I tightened the OEM passenger footpeg bolts to 28nm.

The rubber plug is used on the license plate holder. Place it in the middle in case the cross bar rubs against the license plate holder. I emailed TT and they gave me the info. Good customer service.
