Beach Life | Retrospective - An Underrated Holiday Resort Sim

Today we're taking a look at one of the most underrated simulation/tycoon games ever: 'Beach Life'. (Or 'Virtual Resort: Spring Break ' in the USA.)
Not many people have heard of this gem so i hope this video will shine some light on it.

I love how everybody who payed absolutely loved that one song, here at the end. Quality of that song was amazing, and for me as a kid, made like 90% of the experience of this game. Always started at night, sounds of tourists in the background, really created an incredible atmosphere.

I have finally finished this game after first discovering it when I was a kid. While the sandbox mode is chill, the campaign is not. You have tight deadlines forcing you to optimize and milk your builders as much as possible on the first day. Missions are short so you are encouraged to experiment with different build orders to achieve the goal. This is more similar to an RTS in this aspect. I was actually pleased with this take on the genre but you have to know what you're in for. Some parts lack depth, probably because it was rushed out of development. Security is useless outside of that one mission. Beers are a good idea but the execution did not deliver. You will really only use the ones that make people happy or horny.

I was just a little kid when I first played the game. This is a very beautiful nostalgia for me. Musics of this game was wonderful for a good summer vibe. I still listen most of them today! Thanks for the restrospective ❤

Ine thing about this game always overlooked is the soundtrack. Up to this date the soundtrack is on every device with a loudspeaker I have. It is one of the best, if not THE BEST soundtrack for such a game ever.

Ah yeah, no game brought with it the feeling of summer holidays and novel tropical experiences just like Beach Life. I remember being just a kid and playing this game just before embarking on a trip to Croatia with my parents and friends during my summer break. Amazing vibe.
