Overall really positive but I do have one concern, which will be obvious to anyone who knows me even a little bit.

I want Sorren to get a chance to be angry at Claudia, to rant at her, to yell to her about all the sh!t she did to him. And I need his forceful healing to be a part of that.

The entire sage will have 7 seasons so in the 4 seasons to come, there will be plenty of time to explore Soren's condition and Claudia's magic, I really really hope it does get addressed, and given how well many other disabilities have been represented I am at least somewhat hopeful.

someone pointed out in the last video that a possible direction they can take with this is that what's given could possibly also be taken away and HOLY SHIT would that be an insane way to explore a toxic power dynamic

I love listening to these videos while I do my work! It makes me think about things I never did before and it allows me to see a glimpse of the media that I consume from another point of view. You deserve way more subscribers for the work that you do!

honestly I think it's too soon to say what they will do as it's been less then a month between season 2 ending and season 3 end. so there may be some things that happen to aflic soren later. he may loose all use of his legs again, (don't remember if his arms where effed they could have just been broken.) but he may end up in a wheelchair and they use magic to maybe not cure him like cludia did lessen the effects. still I think they will pull something interesting out I have faith.

For Soren, I don't really see this series exploring the "curing" of his paraplegia into that much depth, mainly because he was only paralyzed for a couple of episodes and since he was able bodied for all of his life any negative feelings he may have experienced would have washed over fairly quickly. My concerns of the disabled characters in the series fall more with General Amaya. Don't misunderstand me, I do thoroughly enjoy her character. She's caring, intelligent and evokes a confident, commanding presence one would expect from a military commander. My main concern is the amount of realism they placed into her position as a deaf military commander. Based on my understanding, being a military commander in a Fantasy setting often requires one to order troops into the battlefield. We see Amaya being able to communicate mainly by way of sign language and her interpreter and she does seem to have a knack for strategic planning and she's not afraid of putting herself right into the heart of the battlefield. However, when in the battlefield, it is sometimes necessary to give an order while fighting one-on-one against an opponent, which makes it rather difficult to sign and there is always the possibility for her interpreter to get separated from her in a war zone. I don't recall an instance where such a situation was accommodated. While I am not deaf, I do have Autism and what I learned growing up is that part of having a disability is not just adapting to your surroundings, sometimes your surroundings have to adapt to you. In my case, I always had a hard time focusing on schoolwork and communicating in class, so I had to meet with a social worker regularly to devise strategies to make my situation easier such as practicing my social skills or being allowed additional time during tests. With Amaya I have yet to see how the army has accommodated her situation. If Amaya could at least speak, then maybe I wouldn't be so concerned, but the only time I've heard her utter a sound is when she is gasping for breath during her judgment with the Sunfire elves.

If the series did show the army accomodations that I missed in this series, feel free to inform me.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who gets chills at the broken link banners. What powerful symbolism.

Yeah... It's very frustrating that Soren was so chilled about the road his sister follows. He can be very perceptive sometimes but it takes him a loong looong time to criticize his family.

Now that we have info about season 4 we know that the Viren resurrection is temporary there’s a chance that Soren’s is too

when i started watching the series, i honestly expected Rayla to lose her hand. it was kind of weird how they never explained why Zym was able to remove the ribbon thing. it couldn't be cut with a literal flame dagger, they could have at least offered some explanation to how a baby dragon managed to remove it.

also while i love this series, one another small part that pissed me off was Rayla kissing Callum without consent. she assumed that he had feelings for her just because he was being nice to her, immediately kissed him and then got mad at _him_ when he said that he didn't want that.

he wasn't even being mad at her, even though he had full right to. idk Rayla is a nice character in all other aspects but that scene put a bad taste in my mouth, especially since they never address it later and just end up becoming a couple.

I think the only way we’ll see any talk or argument about Soren get the ‘cure’ is if Claudia does it again.

With all this hate for a disabled character being cured I do wonder how you would view the german animated series "Heidi" which does feature a wheelchair using person and the last third of the series is somewhat based around her learning to walk again.

Maybe they're waiting to bring up Soren's dissability thing till season 4
