Zenith Watches explained in 2 minutes - Short on Time
Georges Favre-Jacot began manufacturing watches from a modest workshop in Le Locle, Switzerland at the age of 22. Inspired by the mass manufacturing seen at American watch brands such as Waltham and Elgin, he began to invest everything into his own company. After Favre-Jacot’s manufacture was awarded the grand prize for its exceptional Zenith caliber at the Paris Universal Exhibition in 1900, the company adopted the same name.

As a Fan of watches sometimes i have questions to watchmakers, so i wrote to random watchmakers over time, Rolex, Breitling, Seiko, Rado, Bucherer and many others, Only Zenith and Fortis toke the time to reply, but the answer of Fortis about Vintage watch repair was not satisfying, Zenith was the only one who gave me a quick answer and told me how they have all the data from every watch they ever made in their archives, so in case my watch stops working i can send it to them, no Problem . I don't mind other watchmakers not replying but Zenith gave me the feeling of good Customer care .

The Zenit El Primero movement had a long way to go before it got to sit inside the Daytona. In the hands of Rolex’s technicians, it went through more than 200 separate modifications, leaving it with fewer than half its original components.

Its date function was removed and an entirely new escapement was fitted, with a larger free sprung Glucydur balance wheel and Microstella regulating system. The flat hairspring received a Breguet overcoil and the frequency was dropped to keep it in line with the rest of the professional range; from 36, 000vph to a more relaxed 28, 800vph.

By the time they had finished with it, Zenith’s El Primero had become Rolex’s Cal. 4030—and the Daytona had become a legend.

my only concern is the "new" Old Logo, the one before especially in the 70's was great, i can't get warm with the new one .

I dropped my zenith el primero and it costs a fortune to fix at LVMH. And the sick part is they make it so u can only buy genuine parts from LVMH directly meaning u can't fix it anywhere else.

Luxury watches are a scam. It's like wearing a ticking time bomb. Think twice before buying, especially from LVMH. Their after sale service is poor also with arrogant attitudes.
