I'm was in the US Air force when I discovered Lazerhawk. When I was on a TDY to Korea I was running along an area that had guard towers with spot lights along my path and the only thing I could think about was how fitting retrowave music fit into my life at the moment. Every time I listen to this, I get into a trance and my mind warps back in time. It is late at night a few years back. Me and my brother are on the first row of a rinkety shuttle bus. My brother is passed out tired in the seat next to me. I put my headphones on as i get tired of hearing all the road noise. We are heading back to Cusco after a long day at Machu Picchu. Inside and outside of the bus, there is nothing but darkness aside from the front fog lights illuminating the road. Driving through what seemed like an endless winding road, I could see a continuous lightning show from a distance thunder storm. This magical sight, while listening to this beautiful song touched my soul. It seemed like the rythm of this tune was in sync with everything going on at that moment in time.

This is actually probably one of Lazerhawks (and one of synthwave's in general) most progressive tracks. It has a lot of indie rock and jangle pop influences, almost kind of a genre crossover in a way. Love the track.

Over last summer I spent some time in Canada. I was working a job as a track hand at Mosport, and that race season turned out to be the best summer of life so far.
