Basso Diamante: How good is a Premium Carbon Bike?

In today's video, I tell the story of how I got back on a Carbon Framed Bike... tongue in cheek.
In all seriousness, I was given an opportunity to evaluate a Basso Diamante. A premium, made in Italy carbon frame from a family owned manufacturer that has a rich and storied history.
I go through my usual ride evaluation and tell you what I think. Will this Italian Stallion win me back over to the carbon camp?!

Yes, it would be great to see those bike rides return and you'd be a great ambassador for them, Luis. And they could call it the Luis Scott Big Florida Bike Ride Series. 😀

I own two rim brake versions (yes they still make a rim brake version) of this bike and love it. Recommend to purchase the frameset and build it up as you like.

Nice content, rare to see Basso. Now imagine you bring this beauty in the Alps (or Rockies), not a short punchy hill, with a pair of Bora Ultras and Veloflex tubeless tyres 😊🎉 that’s my go to setup and boy is it sweet, so responsive, and in the descents (although not being a good one ahaha). And I believe that is where it belongs, like you said, rather than in a crit or on the flats. Love my Diamante and the fact that it is built in Italy.

Don't forget about Scapin. That was my favorite slx frame from the 90's with Campy chorus.

Thank you so much! I am interested in a new bike, I am a former owner of Pinarello, Colnago, Scott, and now I have 02 Looks, 01 Giant Time Trial and a legendary Caloi Eddy Merckx. I am looking foward a Basso Diamante in São Paulo-Brazil and your review helped me a lot!
