‘Person of Interest’ Named in Missing Student Punta Cana Case

A person of interest has been named in the disappearance of Sudiksha Konanki, 20, who disappeared at a Punta Cana resort last week while on spring break. Joshua Riibe, 22, is allegedly the last known person to have spent time with Konanki before she vanished. The two were spotted on surveillance footage together, along with a group of friends. No criminal charges have been filed and police have yet to say whether or not they even suspect foul play. Law&Crime’s Chris Stewart explains all of the updates in the investigation and what we know about Riibe on this episode of On the Case.

This reminds me of a time I went to the beach with my boyfriend, we were 18/19 years old. Drinking and partying and decided to go for a night swim, both of us waking up on the beach the next morning. In retrospect, I could have died, I was far too intoxicated to be in the ocean. We both were. To this day I am incredibly grateful that we did not drown. But seeing this, I cannot help but imagine if one of us had.

I had a bad feeling when he came back without his shirt. Why wouldn't he go right to authorities when she supposedly was swept away by a wave? I wish the girls hadn't left her alone with a stranger, especially when she was so obviously intoxicated.
