you know the international 7.3 idi was all gear and you can also get a gear conversion for the chevy engines and slo for the Chevy diesels my old 6.5 has a gear conversion

Very basic "bullet-proof" simple gear train. Keep them properly lubricated and they'll be there for many years.

Hey so I got a question if if I didn't have any special kits to set the timing on a p7100 pump 12 valve Cummins can I just look for the notch marks hold the engine and put the new pump with the gear back in its original notch that are in dentation in the gear that would be a big help because I've been still having a hard time understanding when they say set the pump timing I'm going to be putting a new p7100 pump on a 12 that I was having some issues with the pee pump number one delivery valve so I'm just installing a new pump but I was curious as if I could just set the timing and lock the engine on top dead center with the PIN the black plastic and steel pin whatever it's made out of up underneath to the gears to stay locked that pain that is up underneath the p7100 pump can I just lock the gears in look at all the little indentations in each gear just like how you show here and then pull the pump put the new pump on and can you spin the shaft which I haven't pulled one off yet on the p7100 pump by hand to make sure that little tiny arm or leg they talk about up on the side driver side you pull that bolt off and it's plastic to make sure that it's in the center and then just put the timing gear right back on with the invitations of where the last pump was if I'm not changing no timing I'm just putting it back to original I would think that you should be able to do that

7 times the size lmfao. Thats sad because the Chevy diesel oil pump has the highest volume pump of any Domestic diesel engine.

Well technically the GM oil pump is larger and another technicality, the GM isn’t torn down having work done to it. It’s still driving.
