I definitely support indie developers. Because unlike the studio to only care about money. The people who work in indie development actually care about their work.

The fact that random teens create their own animated shows with low budgets and lots of effort and actually rivaling big companies is crazy 😭

Tweeners are animation's bass guitarist: nobody notices when they do a good job, but they get clowned on when they are even a little bit bad

That awkward moment a new indie cartoon becomes more successful than a film that was supposed to celebrate Disney's 100th Anniversary

Indie Animation has become a force these past few years while not all of them get the spotlight they deserve ( cough*Monkey Wrench) but Indie animation is making its mark from Hazbin to TADC there's no stopping it now. Long live Indie Animation!

Thank you for mentioning MonkeyWrench it deserves just as much love as Digital Circus and Helluva Boss.

There's a reason why more people are talking about stuff like Digital Circus, Helluva Boss, Lackadaisy, and indie animation in gerneral rather than the mass produced live action Disney remake slop that all bleeds in together.

I wish we could see the creativity of indie animation in the latest Disney movies, but instead they just release lackluster movies and unnecessary sequels...

Not gonna lie, I’m surprised there was no mention of Rooster Teeth. They were like the first truly in-house indie animation/multimedia studio that strictly produced for the web. While there were projects like Homestar Runner with a team behind it (Brothers Chaps), or outliers like John K’s weird George Liquor shorts, they weren’t a pro studio like Spumco and all their stuff was web-based. It’s even sadder considering they just shut down a few days ago.

Big companies being allergic to new ideas is why indie animation is thriving. People are tired of constant sequels and live action remakes Disney…

The world of indie web animation really shows that the Internet gives animators and other artists more creative freedom to showcase their passion project than the animation industry would ever be.

Also, Lackadaisy is considered to be the veteran out of all the modern web series, considering that it started off as web comic back in 2006, aka the Wild West era of the Internet.

Indie Animation is the reason why I haven't stopped creating art. Even though a lot of big companies are ruining their employees and shows by trying to cut jobs with AI and cutting funds on cartoons that need more time in the oven, I'm happy that the Indie Animation space is the exact opposite of that and has such a positive environment from what I've noticed. It gives me hope for the future of animation that more projects will be backed by people who actually loves to see projects reach their full potential no matter how crazy their idea might be while also still providing to their animators / teams. Also, thanks for mentioning Monkey Wrench. That show is extremely underrated.

With so much uncertainty in the corporate animation space, Independent animation really is the only way for good original animated shows to survive.

Most indie developers care about their craft and audiences. It's not just about money, it's about expressing themselves.
It's basically the early days of animation, before it became too corporate

The frustration in the pitch meetings is real. It's soul crushing. Now that I manage a production team, I've vowed to at least let my creators try things they wanna try.

digital circus and murder drones and lackadaisy and ramshackle are all so good, I haven’t seen monkey wrench yet but I have heard many good things. And while Hazbin is a “mainstream” show now, we can’t forget its indie roots and how the success of the pilot led to it getting picked up by A24 in the first place. Plus Helluva is indie still

I love how roots of GLITCH are in Luke's channel - SMG4, that kept going for over a decade and is hanging on till this day. And it's huge in fact.

"Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave! With a box of scraps!" kinda sums up this whole thing. really great to see all the well-made and spectacular independent shows these days
