What I love about these video series is that it really allows you to hear more of the sounds being played. Sounds that are often normally hidden away when you only listen to them, but reveal themselves with the visual cues. It really reiterates how beautiful the instrumentation is.

you need to live on earth for at least two different lives to play with Snarky Puppy. you cannot achieve this amount of musicianship in only one life

I said to myself "Man, this reminds me of Rubén Blades", then I learned Marcelo Woloski has worked with Rubén Blades.

When I played this in the car just after the album release, my kid (11) said that this sounds just like a portal opening. So you nailed that title!

Always thrilling to see which members wrote all these tunes when I finally watch the videos. Always makes so much sense

Chris Bullock is so damn good. Every time he solos, it's something I've never heard before and/or something that fits beautifully in a transition or groove. Not to mention his woodwind versatility. Amazing.

Yo i was listening to some Pat Metheny yesterday and it made me think of how glad i am that bands like Snarky are carrying the torch. Now i hear this shit and it totally has influences from Metheney's song First Circle, particularly the live version off the record The Road to You.

First circle more like full circle amiright fellas 😎

Anyone else hearing the heavy Brasil vibes on this track? From the harmony to the piano frases in the head, to the aesthetic of the guitars and percussions, this all feels the super classy Brasil to me! Beautiful!

Their musicianship is so good that many are probably overlooking how well recorded, mixed and mastered this is!

Clear reference to Portal Sessions, when Michael recorded with Rubén Rada in Uruguay!

Chris is beyond talented; beautiful and memorizing flute playing and then next you see him dropping arguably the best Soprano Sax solo of '23. 🔥

I can NOT listen to these guys without smiling! What they do musically is just amazing on both an intellectual AND spiritual level. The intricate melodies, complex harmonies, fascinating cordal changes and modalities, and outstanding rythyms, all flawlessly performed by some of the BEST musicians in the business ALWAYS leaves me in an altered state of mind.

In other words... I LOVE THESE GUYS!!!

Thanks Michael, Bob, Zach, Chris, Chris, Mark, Justin, Bill, Nate, Shuan, Maz, Larnell, J.T., Marcello, Keita, Jamison, and yes; Sput and Cory. You are ALL truly inspirational and I reall enjoy your artistry and craft.
