How do green banks assess and report impacts, and why is it important?
Показать описание
This Green Bank Network webinar delves into how green banks measure, monitor and publicly report on their performance and why that reporting is a crucial institutional function. As publicly capitalized financing entities with the express purpose of increasing private sector investment in low carbon, climate-resilient (LCR) infrastructure, several green banks have developed rigorous and transparent frameworks for measuring the impacts they are having on overall investment in LCR infrastructure and the corresponding emissions reductions, renewable power generation, and other benefits. Impact measurement, monitoring and reporting is increasingly important in global sustainable infrastructure investing, across public and private sectors, and green banks provide some early visibility into evolving approaches and practices.
In this webinar, Gavin Templeton, Head of Sustainable Finance at Green Investment Group, and Caroline Angoorly, Chief Operating Officer at NY Green Bank, present on why and how they track the impact metrics they use and how impact data may be used to inform institutional strategic planning in the future. More information about how Green Bank Network members’ impact reporting practices can be found the GBN issue brief, How Green Banks Assess and Report Impacts (available in the GBN Knowledge Center). Their approaches and lessons learned can be useful for all stakeholders interested in how public capital can be most effectively used to increase private investment in LCR infrastructure.
