I've been doing this more often, these days! :D Additionally, I found a way to not get punished by on stage counter with Aether. Aether as far away from the ledge as possible; so you can grab the ledge and miss getting hit by the furthest length of the weapon (person using counter). Although, Bayonetta is a different story because she has two answers to Aether (Witch Time and D-Smash T^T)

its also important to know how to vertically and horizontally space aether to avoid projectiles, counters and certain f-smashes if you have to use it

Also, mix-up where you Quickdraw to!

There are plenty of options, not just to the ledge. Especially if there are platforms on the stage you are fighting on and/or if you are sent higher up.
