As soon as I saw the philosophers stone i started tearing up.
it reminded me of old server i had with friends, i remember we had a tree house in a jungle tree overlooking the ocean with a rather square oak production base on the plains nearby for the industrialist craft machines.

I remember looking SO hard for that one diamond we needed for the philosophers stone, and days later making those big EMC "Power Flowers" for all your red matter needs.

Those were the days, kinda sad now i deleted that world ;(

Really glad you guys are as excited as I am for this series! :). And yes, I noticed the cobble slab exploit, lol.

This brings back the memories.

Also honestly I feel that moving from easily abused EE to slow ExNihilo swung a pendulum into another direction where the start is too slow for the sake of being too slow.
Especially now when Autonomus Activator doesn't work with a sieve.

I stopped playing skyblocks and moved to quests on more normal maps now.

I never asked for this...

I begged for it. Nostalgia man!

I remember trying this challenge, it's a great time and was super innovative back in modded 1.2.5. There was no Thermal Expansion, no Ender IO, no MFR, all the inner workings of the monument are in-game, no HQM here. When I decided I didn't have the time to finish the map, I remember digging into the monument and figuring out the mess of pneumatic tubes and blutricity. RedPower 2 was honestly one of the most powerful mods in its heyday. Great to see you showing all the newer fans our roots!

Dire, there actually is something you are allowed to take from the starting area. There's a project table with a bunch of ender pouches and a broken pickaxe inside. Won't spoil whats inside the pouches, but you NEED the items inside the pouches to get 100% on this map and the map doesn't provide these items in any other way. (There is a sign above the project table that gives you permission to take the items)

Im currently making this modpack my first ever Classic modpack experience ever (yes. in 2022) and this series its a godsend. i have zero idea on how retro mods and challenge maps work. but with this series i can have a groundwork.

Of all the mods that have come and gone with time, Redpower and Equivalent Exchange are my favourites!

OMG ALL MY FAVORITE MODS AGAIN!!! IM MAKING ALL MY UNCULTURED FRIENDS LEARN MY NOSTALGIC FAVORITE MODS!! ( I litteraly cant convey how awesome that you are doing all this AGAIN in 1.2.5.)Maybe new mod creators will get inspired from seeing some really cool old mods (like redpower2)

I remember there were like 10 people online, mod designers, and expert players running this map 24/7 and it took them a week. If you're doing this on your own it's gonna be a series. I do long for some redpower contraptions though. I know AE is far better but there was something about this mod, watching all those items move all over in pipes, it was quite soothing and rewarding.

The fact that shift-clicking in NEI didn't exist is what made soaryn's fabricators (I think that's what they were called?) so awesome.
Just click a recipe in there from NEI and it'll craft it for you? Amazing!
Nowadays they probably wouldn't get much attention next to the combination of any autocrafter and NEI's shift-click, but back then it was actually a revolutionary feature.

Incase no one has yet pointed this out, if you put down grass blocks (or bone-meal a large patch of dirt) you can get peaceful mobs to spawn. Or at least that's how I recall it.

Also do not forget the redpowe rods (forget what they are really called) that give saplings on each and every leaf block, and the sickle to harvest large areas of leaves / plants.

OMG, this is awesome. This is where FTB started for most of us and for me it's still the most fun out of all the questing maps. I'm very much looking forward to this series!
