NBC 'filmstrip' movie intros 1981-1984 (Restored)

0:00 - 1981 / Our Pride is Showing

0:59 - 1983 / Be There
1:29 - 1984 / Let's All Be There
1:59 - [Bonus] 1984 / Let's All Be There

This intro is pretty infamous for being reused for 3 years in a row, thought I'd do a compilation of them but with each iteration's audio restored as best as I can (cleaning up the noise and attempting to add missing frequencies)

The 1982-1984 intros don't change much so I used the exact same footage for them. The 1981 version however has some noticable differences (namely the initial position of the filmstrip, the rougher animation, among others)

The newer intro done by PDI used the last theme used with the filmstrip intro interchangably with the newer theme in its earliest days it seems (the new theme fits better, anyway), which is why I included it as a bonus.

I should mention that the 1981 music was used with the 1982 intro, as seen here:

Without a 3D software suite like we have these days makes you really wonder how this was created. It's still quite a bit of work for even today.

The original "Let's All Be There" with the Robert Abel animation appears to have only been used from at least July to September 1984. The '83 Be There was still in use as late as May of that year as it appeared on V The Final Battle.

The first 7 seconds of the 1981 version is a really good sample

There are two high-quality sources I know for these: the 1981 version turned up on a LaserDisc of Robert Abel's work, and the 1983 version turned up on a 1" tape. Both are on YouTube.

1:30 This is the rarest time when I hear this music with the movie filmstrip identification and it somehow fits very well

I have to say as a 3 year old in 1983, that opening along with the NBC chimes meant time for bed.

1️⃣ Our pride is showing [1981 (1st jingle)]
2️⃣ Just watch us now (1982)
3️⃣ Be there [1983 (sounds good and amazing)]
4️⃣ Let's all be there [1984 (my fav jingle but ver 1)]

Without a doubt the best music that went with this intro was the 1983 "Be There" theme. Everything was timed perfectly. The 1981 "Our Pride is Showing" theme isn't too bad either. If I had to rank the themes it would look like this:

1. 1983 / Be There
2. 1981 / Our Pride is Showing
3. 1984 / Let's All Be There
4. 1982 / Just Watch Us Now

Personally like the 1981 version. The chimes actually sound like a part of the music instead of sounding like an afterthought in the other ones.

The "filmstrip" intros were comissioned as part of the 1981-82 NBC "Our Pride is Showing" graphics package.

The 4th intro was short lived. I didn't know that the 4th intro music was for a brief time played on the movie intro which lasted till 1987.

That 1984 version sounded too epic and there's a version they used for A-Team's big premiere in 1983 as well.

I just noticed that there is an animation error in the first one, at around 0:05 seconds, where part of the filmstrip dissappears at the bottom of the screen for about a second.

The others don't have that error.

이것은 1981년의 가장 좋아하는 시즌입니다. "Our Pride is Showing!" 그리고 아기상어 브루클린은 제가 가장 좋아하는 채널이자 가장 많이 본 동영상이자 핑크퐁의 새로운 채널입니다!
