YSF - Florida Legislative Session 2018 - Scandal & Priorities

In Governor Rick Scott’s final State of the State address this week, he highlighted some of the accomplishments of his last eight years in office and asked lawmakers for their support on a number of issues including pay raises for state law enforcement officers, an extended sales tax holiday and better protections for victims of sexual harassment – and $53 million in funding to help combat the opioid epidemic. But much of the start of this year’s legislative session was overshadowed by the revelation of an extramarital affair between two high-ranking state senators. We discuss how this could impact lawmakers and hear some of the big issues that will be addressed in 2018.
