My Projects Story

I started this project back in June 2020 when Sydney went into COVID Lockdown. It was an on/off affair as I was clueless what to do story wise.

Filmed all by myself, at home in my tiny apartment on my Panasonic G7, a green screen, a few lights, props, free sounds/backgrounds/3D assets, using Audacity, Cinema4D and After Effects.

When I started my journey as a Filmmaker, I followed my early childhood inspirations: James Cameron, Stephen Spielberg, Akira Kurozawa, George Lucas, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Ridley Scott, Michael Mann, John Carpenter, Paul Verhoven, Guilermo Del Toro and John McTiernan just to name a few. (There are to many to mention)

As of late what has really influenced my style of filmwork has been the 1940s/1950s Noir and the use of Chiaroscuro, my biggest influence of them all was the great Orson Welles.

This was such a giant undertaking for me that I wondered if I would ever finish it. It started small and simple, then ended up big, complicated and exhausting. At one point there was no end in sight and I felt lost.

But eventually I saw the light at the end of the tunnel and was relieved, somewhat proud and I'm already moving on to my next film projects.

I wanted to test myself as a Filmmaker and Storyteller, with very limited resources, locations, literally zero budget and manpower.

I have allot to improve upon and show. I am constantly learning. I hope you enjoy my little film :)

It’s a little sad seeing those pics of Ripley, Newt and Hicks and the life they could (should?) have had. Ripley is such a tragic character at the end of Alien 3.

Hi Rollin. I just wanted to let you know I drop in to watch your video from time to time, like now. It's one of my favourites, I pull it up when I'm starving for a proper spooky space story and need a pick-me-up. It stands the test of time... I still can't imagine how you did it all by yourself! Amazing work and excellent homage to one of the Greatest Universes ever created. This was so so good, i especially loved the Red Queen and the Home sequence at the end of Ripley and her Family, so well done!

Watched this on the recommendation of the Unclassified Encounter channel and dam was i impressed, the row of pictures at the end just blew my mind not to mention to tyrell logo on the phone so that explained the androids, i really hope that your planning to continue with this story.

I really appreciate the dark foreboding claustrophobic atmosphere! Good call-back with the alien warning signal. I was wondering why these mercs would send only one of their own into a possible Xeno hive. Terrific twist! Here I thought it was only the newer models that got shafted. It is curious that a face-hugger would try to "impregnate" an android though.
The ending picture montage was a gut-punch. The life of Ellen Ripley, Dwayne Hicks, and Rebecca "Newt" Jorden, that might have been.
