Some of Google's Search API Documentation was accidentally leaked! And it shows that Google lied!

It turns out they use all sorts of data that they've told us explicitly they don't use and that they're relying heavily on user behavior and brand recognition as ranking signals while deprioritizing lots of traditional SEO signals.

It's past time that we need to focus more on building brands and less on catering to the algorithm.

I've found that pivoting to YouTube is the single best thing that you can do at the moment, and supplementing your blog articles with your videos helps immensely.

One more thing I've noticed is that, with this new path of google only ranking "bigger websites", even if you write a helpful piece on a very niche search term that is totally underserved and yours is the only one that is directly on point, Google still would rank bigger names on top even if it's not exactly relevant to the search, and the articles from smaller sites that are on point rank somewhere around the mid to bottom of the first page at most.

"Just build a brand!" What an advice for small businesses with low budgets. Even corporations with millions of $ budgets struggle with that. Less than .1% of searches include brands, and these are giant brands like Mercedes, Nike, Chanel etc. No one ever looks for "Franklin Miller-Smith Plumbing" or "Margaret Klunikowski piano lessons".

I have 2 websites and 2 YouTube channels in different niches. One is doing better on the website side and the other on YouTube 🤷‍♀️

Just recently I decided to make a Podcast for one of them with a Twitter account attached for it. Which by the way turned out great. The 21st episode comes out next week and it’s been quite an accomplishment. I have noticed Google increasing my exposure since.

Dabbing into Pinterest and instagram also, but I think building a whole brand like this is key to be given a leg up nowadays.

I used to say I build websites, now you should say I build brands.

As AI takes over more and more of google, things are going to become even more of a cluster. And I would think that user behavior would lead to being rewarded with shorter articles. In the age of incredibly short attention spans, no one is going to sit and read a 1500-2000 word article. Getting someone to read more than a paragraph or two is a stretch these days.

5:28 you need to add a secices page and include consultancy services and have contact details. Then, create a location for your website on Google pages and have people be able to find it ON Google maps, verify the business. Then blog about content the business would and you have solved this issue.

Another option is that they use the click data not directly in the search algorithms, but to train their search AI. Because Google doesn't just use search algorithms anymore. They use AI. Their AI learns how to identify behaviour based on click data, but then also tries to predict how content relates to click behaviour. So technically, they're not lying.

I have also been noticing that Google is not indexing many pages on my site for no apparent reason. This never happened before, but now I guess with the sheer number of AI generated content being thrown at google, they're having a hard time indexing all of it. I had to manually request indexing for like 45 of my articles and even after that 7-8 of them just won't get indexed. The content is neither thin nor duplicate.
