Hi everyone!
In this week's video I have an old VHS Sony Handycam to take apart and go through the greeblies, and I also have some updates about the maker faire, more specifically the boxes I made for the transportation!

Nothing more fun then taking stuff apart knowing you never have to put them back together again to the way they were. The bigger challenge after having taken apart my fair share of electronic components and kids toys is figuring how to sort & store them all. I think that whole process is a hobby in itself.

Something so awesome that you can do with objects so rich with greebles is to make a robot/ship/etc. out of pieces taken only from one object. It would be an interesting exercise of creativity making a robot from just the pieces in this video, for example, cutting up the plastic shell for armor and the lenses for cameras and whatnot.

Hey, I am a wood worker! You did a good job making those boxes and you can never go too much with wood glue. just you could put those pockets inside the box that would be win win. Cheers!

Heck yes keep going with a series on this...
IN other words YES... A monthly 'trash' hauls.... or bits haul breakdowns. That is done monthly would be great....It adds content to your channel, and it can be done without a type of script, and can be done on the fly without a voice over....I would love to see 30min to 45min eps of these with minor cuts(time lapses are fine to see how you broke it down), but explaining, and the haul itself leave in with no voice overs. Just 1 time a month would be great!

That black egg crate foam that comes with big electronics would be perfect. You could cut the shapes in foam and let the foam support from all sides. Looks professional. You can probably buy it.. think you know the foam I’m talking bout. I got one of those cams in the basement.. 😆

You have inspired me to try taking apart a coffee maker that recently died and a juicer that got dropped and damaged.

I had no idea someone else was addicted as I was with hunting for Greebles as I am

Outstanding, detailed breakdown❤

I’ve taken so much apart, but ever on the micro scale you work at. Very cool

Love the work on the boxes. I am a novice in the wood working shop, but these look great to me!

Great job on the cases! Perfect little saw for doing that kinda stuff. "If the tool gets the job done, it's the right tool for the job". Only thing I would say is you could likely use thinner plywood to save weight and money.
I've got an much older, full size VHS video camera in storage. It's on the hit list now!

Nice love it, currently dismantled 2 printers and 2 disc players, but yes that camera has a lot!

Very interesting. Maybe that lens is the start of a new spaceship? Good luck at the fair.

Yeah, keep making these. Watching people take apart tech and showing off all the greebles inside is "super interesting".

Print a couple of those hole cutting jigs so you can use one while the other cools down. Nice work on those boxes!

With it being just another peek into your design process, I'd be all for you including your trash hauls. It's always fun to see what goes into a build, and it usually sparks some inspiration, to boot. I try to go to a few re-sale shops every month or two, and $15 to $20 later, I usually have enough wacky shit to last a lifetime of model builds. It's all part of the fun. Getting to see what stuff other people pick out is great information, especially experienced scratch-builders such as yourself. Anything you include is welcome, as far as I'm concerned. Have a great week.

This tear down was excellent and I’d love to see more. Best get yourself a better screwdriver set though. As for your boxes they came out great. The pocket hole detail looks cool, but I worry that people will be able to disassemble them to get inside because your screws are accessible.

The boxes look like they will be fine for the job they were made for but I think they need some of your design flair added to them!
