one i'm not a boy two I did not say everything he did was spot on. eq on a kick is done everywhere and yes for that click sound listen to any modern metal music its click city they did exactly what was done here. I personally dont do stuff like what was done here but yes corrective eqing is a real thing its used to help make space for the other tracks. I do maybe 2 to about 4 db cuts nothing like this and yes your right not in solo. but you know what trolling around aint helping anyone

Mixcraft 6 doesn't have a side chain option, but what you can do is use a third-party plugin like Twisted Lemon Sidekick to get the job done.

I get what you where saying now. sorry about that I thought you where just saying its bad to eq it period. Yes I agree with you making room is what you should aim to do. But at the same time some mixers try to think ahead like that Fab DuPont guy I spelled his name totally wrong by the way. but yea he mixes by thinking ahead sometimes doing over harsh sounding boosts or cuts that pay off later on. I cant mix like that myself but its everyone has a style. the only wrong is thinking there is one.

actually its a pretty good way of eqing the bass kick but dude for real. have you never heard of corrective eq its done on every album that ever sounded half good and ever went to the top. you eq things that really get in the way out and do things for human ears because we are not making music for dogs. i dont use mixcraft but like how he did the kick everything else i would have just high passed

and really man the sonic quality of everything is ruined when you high pass a vocal and cut out that naisle noise that's ruining the harmonics of a voice. but its what makes things sound clean. and you know what what he did helped dident it listen in hd it cleaned up the kick. SOMETHING A CHILD WOULD NOT KNOW is that there are no rules. you got some people who only boost and others who work like this and others who try to go for a natural sound. I do classical music so i don't worry about click.
