Now, this is the type of content I want to be in my yt's homepage.
I love that you share these types of nice tools regularly that you find much useful.

I completely fail to see the point of this for non-macOS. How is a VM faster than Docker.. when it also uses docker? The video isn't very clear about the "benefits" of this tool. Only thing I see is that it automatically mounts your home and does port forwarding, but how is that any better than distrobox, which lets you run any distro as a docker container (minimal footprint) and also does the mounting and forwarding. Can't see how a VM is supposed to be faster than a normal container

I’ve missed the devops content! I would love to see content on building lightweight containers using alpine, distroless and scratch. I would also be interested in how to define a flake to declare a nix-shell environment for a project. thanks omar!

Sounds interesting from a Mac, windows perspective. But for Linux it's just another layer of complexity.

People who think Docker requires a VM, are using Windows or macOS. Just run Linux and you don't need any VMs. Docker is just a set of tools around the Linux kernel's built in technologies...

Lima use to be more difficult to use and setup, which was why Colima was created and based on top of Lima. Do you think there's a need for Colima anymore these days?

very similar to orbstack, another cool tool to optimize docker on mac

What is the keyboard and switches you’re using in this video? Doesn’t seem like either keyboards from your hardware playlist

Wait until he finds out about Incus and that it works with Colima/Lima even on macOS lol

I would very much like your take on the macOS 26 built-in containers when the dust settles. I wonder how they manage RAM for example if every container is a totally separate VM. Also thanks far all the awesome and actually helpful content! 🫡

Sounds like a slightly fancier version of FreeBSD's bhyv hypervisor 😛
