Blade Nano QX: Basic Overview and set-up.

A look at the new Blade Nano QX Quadcopter including a review of the flight modes on the SAFE system. This is one tiny quadcopter (18g) that offers some big technology.

I've seen videos of the new Apprentice with SAFE, and it will actually keep the throttle going, even if the pilot lowers the stick all the way, to maintain level flight. I'm curious if the Nano QX will do similar?

I've been flying it around the house-very cool. If you cut the throttle the motors stop. It doesn't use a panic switch like the apprentice has. You can really see how the safe works by knocking or hitting the quad while in flight-goes right back to level. Inertia is still a consideration and safe isn't really going to prevent a crash outright though who knows as they evolve this system,

Just tried that-it just seems to keep the motors running for about 5 seconds till they shut off with slight decrease in power during that time. It also tries to correct itself but if it already has momentum or is at low altitude it's just going to run into something. Fun to experiment with it. The motor guards are great since if it ends up upside down on the floor the props are clear.

That's interesting about cutting the throttle. I have seen that if you turn off the Tx, it will land itself. I guess they see that as different than the pilot manually lowering the throttle though.

Also, my friend came through for me, and I should have my hands on the NQX tomorrow. :D :D :D

Well, I didn't mean that you'd HAVE to replace it in order to fly it, but that if you did want to, you'd have to replace the entire frame in order to do so.

I got one if these last week and fly it so much I'm pretty sure I'm going to wear out the motors soon! Its a great quad! I'm a truck driver and take it to work with me and can actually practice my helicopter hover orientations In the sleeper cab of my truck. I also fly a 130x.

I would like to ask you "why" you set the controls on the transmitter at you did at Min.1:50 was this done right out of the box as I just received mine Nano I am new to Quadcopter and Blade Nano. also at Min 2:10 you press the Left down on the left stick and turn on Transmitter to "Bind" the Nano to the transmitter is this also an out of box event. Thank you.

I wasn't able to get my hands on one before they went out of stock. Looks like I'm gonna have to wait awhile. :/

That USB charger will come in handy, for the plethora of 1S UM batteries I have. heh

Too funny ! I bought mine at our local Hobby Town USA also. Our's sadly closed and I miss it very much. I still fly this little guy around My house even after all this time. I think it's very well built and a blast !

Forgot to mention flashing red on the quadcopter indicates low battery, but it's pretty obvious at that point.

I love my nano qx great little flyer not been flying for long but the safe stuff has saved me form a few wall incounters.do you know if leds can be fitted to the nano is there a kit we can but to fit them or will blade bring out a new nano with leds.i would it so I can fly in the dark.

Yup they are. They are at least very flexible-we'll see how they hold up.

Ok I have a serious problem. I own two of these and they both are doing the same thing. I follow your instructions to a t and when I bind after a few seconds the motors start to turn they should not. I can fly it after that but if i crash the engines continue to spin fast not good for the props. I have sticks all the way down and it still has motors on semi high. Any suggestions?

How do you change to Mode 1 so that thrust is on the right?
