Hands-on with the Xiaomi Mi4 running Windows 10 Mobile

After months of waiting here it finally is. The result of Microsoft and Xiaomi's collaboration, the Mi4 running Windows 10 Mobile.

Flashing it is relatively simple and the end results are pretty good. Not perfect, but it's definitely an interesting mix.

1) Can you install windows mobile on different android phone. Especially on new ones?
2) Is it a stable build?

Flashing Android into Windows Phone nice! I wish you could flash Windows Phone into Android as well. Haven't found any posts about it.

Could you please check if the USB OTG feature is support on the Mi 4? You can get the info by going into Settings > Devices > USB, and check what feature is supported. Thanks a million.

Now, with Lumia 950 XL's super slow launch (still not a single word on whether it will be launched in Singapore or not), I start to consider Mi5 with windows 10 as an alternative.

@Sohaib Shaikh Microsoft releases the rom. But Xiaomi controls the process in which the update takes place.

To be honest I think the poor camera performance has little to do with optimisation & more to do with the fact that the Windows Camera app is pretty awful & produces grainy & pixelated images on anything other than the new 950s. They really need to fix this. Perhaps it's a firmware issue?

I was just installing stuff etc. for my dad's new Xiaomi Redmi 3. It's powerful and fun - the huge battery, very strong flashlight etc., oh my god. But I still dislike Android relatively to Windows Phone - I use Lumia 520. The video looks great. I don't understand why Microsoft+Xiaomi just don't offer this product, just a bit more professionally and reliably than what is shown here.

There are so many things that just look better on Windows Phone or Windows 10 mobile.
