Common Lisp Study Group Installing SLY and Spacemacs

We will be going over installing Spacemacs and the common-lisp-sly layer for using Sly (Slyvester the cat Common Lisp IDE), a successor to SLIME to use for common lisp development

Your video made me switch from Emacs to Spacemacs :-)


The sly layer on github is archived, and I assume not actively developped anymore. Is that correct?


If the sly layer is not available, should I just install sly via the package manager? Or is there another recommended procedure for Spacemacs?


I am using the common-lisp layer in the meantime - it provides slime.

Good evening AFP. I'm running Arch Linux and was able to install roswel easy enough and spaemacs (-b develop) was also easy to install. However I have had no success with installing the common-lisp-sly layer. I cloned the repo into the "~/.spacemacs.d/layers" folder like in your cast. Also edited the init.el adding both "common-lisp-sly" and the defvar in the places you described. Following that I opened a simple .lisp file in spacemacs and attempted to run the repl with "comma single quote" (, '). All I get is "No previous search".


Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
