How to Add an Embossed Effect to Text & Logos in Photoshop

Learn how to recreate paper textures and apply them to the edges of an icon, and then add realistic depth and dimension, making the icon appear as though it was pressed into a piece of paper. Brilliant! Possibly a dumb question but can the embossing effect be captured as an action to make it easy to use on other images? Or can the layer be copied to other photos?
