California Governor Newsom outlines state's re-opening plan

CNBC's Contessa Brewer reports that California's Governor Gavin Newsom has outlined the state's re-opening plan, which includes monitoring and contact tracing those who have coronavirus.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown and Washington Gov. Jay Inslee announced a regional partnership that will see the three states work together to contain Covid-19 and reopen the West Coast economy. Each state will still develop its own plan, but all three governors agreed to prioritize certain principles, including placing health first and using science to inform policy.

“COVID-19 doesn’t follow state or national boundaries. It will take every level of government, working together, and a full picture of what’s happening on the ground,” the governors said in a statement. “In the coming weeks, the West Coast will flip the script on COVID-19 – with our states acting in close coordination and collaboration to ensure the virus can never spread wildly in our communities.” —William Feur

Great job Gavin! My family really feels good that we are able to do our part helping during this crisis. So what that my 2 small businesses that help feed my family and support my community had to be shutdown and are racking up debt as I cook breakfast for my kids while getting my lessons together for my new career as a stay at home dad / teacher. I mean it all must be for a really important unexpected emergency that is supported by scientific data right? Good thing you guys are going to help the small business owners and I have absolutely nothing at all to worry about ? And it was like a little gift in the midst of this disaster when I heard that you would be letting my tenants live in my house for free until you said so. You guys are just doing a wonderful job here in California and until you take everything I have I will never dare ask any questions and always vote for the best looking candidate who promises to give my money away so I can sleep at night with a clear conscious. We are so fortunate to have such wonderful leaders who do the thinking for us and I will follow blindly as always. And thanks for closing the beaches. Personally I believe its very shellfish for anyone to think it's okay to relax and enjoy nature's beauty at a time like this.
