Hi Anthony, well mate I finally got around to changing out this filter today and all I can say is that I am so disappointed in Toyota servicing departments in general. My 120 series is a Sept07 build and I had Toyota do all the scheduled servicing as per their book until the end of the extended warranty period. Then even after that I had several other services done by Toyota.

Well today I changed out the filter and guess what the date code on it was, yep you guessed it, Sept 07. 450, 000kms and 12 years on the same filter.

Thanks for the informative videos mate, I am doing a lot of my own servicing now as I just cannot trust most of the automotive shops out there to do the right thing.

I was changing the rear fuel filter today and re-watched this video as I remember as you mentioned to be careful around the clips. A great Technique tip! I could see why the bolts are left off the retaining clamp that secures the filter, as the aftermarket "R" brand is larger in diameter than genuine and the short retaining bolt won't allow the clamp to bolt together. A search through spare nuts and bolts yielded a fix with a longer bolt. Thanks for the informative videos 👍

Just done mine . Anth must have fingers of steel ! The other thing to watch is while only a few drips come out of the hoses, there is plenty of diesel still in the filter to empty over yourself if you aren't careful .

Hey great vid, thanks again. But just a question does the petrol 150 have this rear filter or just the diesel? Spanks.

Hi I check my prado 2019 kdj150 one 90l diésel tank this one not comes with sub tank, there is the difference, mine don’t have that diesel filter, just comes with diesel cooler before the main big diesel filter on engine bay. The prado that comes with sub tank comes with that filter that you show on your video and the part number is 23310-30020
Filter Assy, Fuel Pump. And bouth uses diesel cooler. Here is all info about that filter 23310-30020

Replaced my rear fuel filter today and Anthony's tips were spot on, however I have a few more to add based on my experience.

Tip 1 - My two 10mm bolts were cross threaded I suspect from the previous owner and it's easy to do, I think I know why. The nut that the two bolts screw into are actually cup nuts and cannot receive the full length of the bolt. As such when you tighten it up you think it still has more to go but in fact it's hitting the end. This causes you to strip the bolt if not careful or aware.

Does anyone know the bolt size to order a replacement? Mine was so mashed I could not figure it out with certainty.

Tip 2 - When reassembling and pressing in the two clips back on the filter if you push the clip all the way onto the filter it sometimes prevents you from pressing in the clip. Pull the connector out 1-2mm and it will then close. Gently tug the connector when done to check it's actually on.
