I have a tendency to build on the shoreline of the pond. either leaving an open side for a dock or building a bunch of towers on the lily pads. building mostly on lilypads also makes it really hard for most bugs to attack you.

Man, I've had NO inspiration while I was trying to figure out how I want to go about building my base till I saw this video. My word, you really have sick designs! Thank you for the tips! Wish I had a good designing partner like you lol

I just build for functionality over looks personally lol...grass and weed warehouse at floor level, craft table and chests on 2nd floor, and all the other factory type items on 3rd floor/ roof... all within a 5 by 5

When I first started playing the game even before I beat a single lab I started building Mushroom farms because I knew I was going to need them eventually.

Once I got furnaces I built as many as possible and a whole warehouse dedicated just to growing and processing mushrooms into bricks.

My favorite thing to build is a big box to put a lot of little boxes inside it that hold all my piles of things.

I found using the weapon mounts made a fancy back panel for mounting sap torches on.
Armour dummies were great for mounting glow bug helmets on, giving a spotlight beam you could angle by altering the dummies animation pose.

I also use the Tier system for sorting items, as well as if it's a bug drop or not. Only issue is that T2 doesn't have many items, and a handful don't have a tier

2:44 you will, I HAVE to make black ox burgers becose I had alredy collected full pinecon chest of repair glue + one line of those in one of the other chest and still have like 5 extra stacks. They should realy boost black ox horns drop.
3:48 lint? You have about 100 in the undershed in one place. I thing in whole place there could be around even 150 of it. Coal? Toenails? Yes. You are right
11:27 those bases are amazing! Had I seen one of those? That rainbow bridge is simular...

Nice Video, I think my biggest frustration in most survival sandbox games is the limiting build mechanics.... Like Grounded and Valheim I have looked at the Best builds on Youtube and they all seem to be here is a huge castle or hut everything feels so same-y....Subnatica was look at my HUGE submarine base.... I think my favorite build survival sandbox game has got to be No Man Sky as it really has no limits. (other then the 3, 000 parts per base limit and 16K parts per Save file but game gives me 15 saves so not much of a limit there) But if I want a Wild west town... ( I can build it) if I want a Super futuristic Spaceship (I can build that) if I want a Medieval Castle, (I can Build that) or a Pirate theme (Shocker I can build it) it was the only game I can build anything from any time period and I was hoping I could find more of that in Grounded, but I cannot... all bases look same-y. Valheim, Enshrouded too... Fallout 4, and Subnautica all suffer the same thing Yes there are some amazing builds in all these games but they all look like castles and not that many fall outside this same-y for lack of a better word. Is there Glitch Building where I can resize or make Items Bigger or in a different orientation then the game WANTS me to place it? NMS has glitch building and because of this In NMS I've seen Builds from Wild Wild West to another community planet that has Pirate ships, then I go to another and its filled with massive Villas and Another has Pyramids, others have actual pictures like Van Gough Art! Scenes directly out of Horizon Forbidden West or Final Fantasy Bases... Its truly crazy because Blender Builders exist as well and I don't think one can build in blender in any other survival sandbox game... (please let me know if I am wrong, I want to find a game where building feels as fulfilling as it does in NMS) I wish there were more games Like NMS as I have like 3000+ hours in that game, and want Variety and I bought grounded but felt like it is missing a lot... But I guess its because it is held back and limited.
