Angelina | Caiphus Semenya

Caiphus Semenya (born 19 August 1939) is a South African composer and musician. He left South Africa for Los Angeles in the 1960's, together with his wife, singer Letta Mbulu. Among the artists with whom he worked are Hugh Masekela, Jonas Gwangwa, Hotep Galeta, Miriam Makeba, Lou Rawls, Nina Simone and Cannonball Adderley. Semenya also arranged the Swahili chant in the intro to Michael Jackson's "Liberian Girl" from the 1987 Bad album.

Tis’ quite the Throwback of good music vibes straight outta the nostalgia-filled, quintessential carefree spirit era that 80’s embodied. Yet still... 41 years later from its release in 1983, it still slaps harder than a gazillion hits from then till now! Don’t even get me started on his my other favorite from him, the 1996 hit, “Matswale”. One just can’t talk about music longevity and shelf life without such greats, such blasts from the past that still hold a special place in our hearts and playlists. ❤️ Now that right there, is what I call...
