Well for me Joji Nakata did a good job as a successor for Sol.

1. Ishiwatari needs to develop the games (considering he also composes the songs+development, time isn't luxury for him)

2. The dynamic between Sol and Sin as a gramps and grandchild will be kinda awkward if they are within the same vocal age.

I just think Sol became mature and gruff because he had a headache to take care of.

iirc Accent Core Plus has some bonus interviews (audio) and the one with Ishiwatari has him saying one of Sol's lines and previously said he was a bit embarrased at doing those voiced. I guess our boi doesn't feel confident as a VA, even though he did a damn fine job during all those games

Oh wow, that delivery is exactly how he voiced it in-game. Normally, when a voice actor does a line-on-request like that, the delivery is never the same. That's impressive! Then again, he's a head dev, so I bet he's had every line in every game inextricably ironed into his brain, lol.
