The only other differences besides the width that I found between these and the OG Japan 97s are that the text on the pull tab is silver on the Vapormaxes where as it's Neon on the regular Japan 97s, and the Vapromax branding on the insoles. I like that there are a few subtle changes just so it's not a complete sole swap.

Not a fan of Vapormax sole but love the 97 and love this colorway. Maybe a Max ‘17 sole and 97 upper would look better.

Not feeling it, at all. Somehow, and ironically, the vapormax sole in neon green looks hella cheap to me.
I'd like to see a 95, but I'm afraid id feel the same way about it.
The traditional vapormax upper fits the sole really well. It's sleek profile counters the bulbous sole. Just my 2 cents.

It just doesn't work for me. From the front angle it kind of looks like football boots. The soles are too bulky in my opinion.
