We are harming the natural world – to our own detriment.
Habitat degradation and biodiversity loss are accelerating.
Climate disruption is getting worse.
Fires, floods, droughts and superstorms are more frequent and damaging.
Oceans are heating and acidifying, destroying coral ecosystems.
And now, a new coronavirus is raging, undermining health and livelihoods.
To care for humanity, we MUST care for nature.
We need our entire global community to change course.
Let’s rethink what we buy and use.
Adopt sustainable habits, farming and business models.
Safeguard remaining wild spaces and wildlife.
And commit to a green and resilient future.
As we work to build back better, let’s put nature where it belongs -- at the heart of our decision making.
On this World Environment Day, it’s Time for Nature.

저는 대한민국의 내국인으로 대한민국 국군간호사관학교 졸업 및 임관 후 삼성서울병원 흉부외과 소속 현직 의사로 개인 간호사 직위를 가지고 지도교수에게 임상 수련을 받는 자 입니다. 의사로서 사관생도 교육 과정 중에 발생하는 사관생도 부모님의 건강과 관련 된 문제를 발견하여 남깁니다. 전세계를 불문하고 사관생도의 부모님은 사관생도와 함께 군사 훈련을 받느라 암에 취약하고 실제로 암에 걸리는 경우가 많이 있습니다. 이 문제를 제기하며 고려해야 되는 점으로 형평성 문제가 떠오르며 그와 관련하여 제가 생각하는 형평성 문제는 다음과 같습니다. i) 사관생도는 군인으로 국가에 봉사하는 자로 성장하나 사관생도 교육을 받은 자는 개인적 이득 또한 매우 크게 얻는다. ii) 사관생도의 부모님의 희생은 결과적으로 자신의 이득과 관련 되므로 자식인 사관생도를 키우는 과정에서 감내 해야하는 문제 일 수 있다. iii) 사관생도와 사관생도 가족이 교육이 끝난 후 국가에 봉사하는 일의 규모가 국가의 모든 일원들의 일의 규모와 다르지 않다. 그러나, i) 사관생도는 비밀 입교 원칙을 지키며 사관생도 생활을 한다. 공부를 잘 한 치과 의사도 사관생도임은 모르는 것 같다. 사립고등학교를 졸업한다고 해도 입교 평가에 실패하면 사관학교에 입교 되지 않음에 따라 비밀 입교는 그 비밀성이 매우 강한 것 같다. 그러하다면 i) 사관생도는 자신의 의지와 상관 없이 그 성적의 우수함으로 선발된 것일 수 있어 사관생도를 선택하지는 않았다고도 볼 수 있다. 따라서 i) 사관생도를 키우는, 그러나 그 역시 개인일 뿐인 부모의 희생이 동반 될 때 부모가 지는 질병의 댓가가 너무 크다.

It is very saddening and bad that people or humans have destroyed much of nature. Throughout time many people have been repressed, murdered, and oppressed by abusive socioeconomical systems and other people. World problems seem to be becoming worse as people continue and as a whole gain more knowledge about things. One major reason worse is because people have not used the knowledge well. Hopefully, there will be a day slavery, poverty, climate change, and all other world problems are highly reduced and stopped.
