Lakes' size should be determined by volume, not surface area. Baikal has more water than all the ACTUAL lakes in this list. The Caspian is a sea, not a lake.

The Caspian Sea isn't really a lake, it's an inland sea. The only reason it's referred to as a lake is because it meets the political definition of one, not because it meets the scientific definition. Otherwise, the Black Sea, Baltic Sea and Hudson Bay would also be referrred to as lakes.

I live on the shores of Lake Superior- drive across when it freezes 😜. I kind of disagree with adding the Caspian Sea - probably because I’m partial to fresh water lakes 😁

Tanganyika lake has no hiding place (no coral reef) so that young fish (larvae)
only escaping place is their parents' mouth...!!
