I need to vent a little. So I’ve been really pushing myself to make more honest music that represents what I’m going through. Everything about this track was calculated. You’ll notice it’s a softer RnB song as opposed to the bass heavy tracks I’ve been previously releasing, and I did that on purpose because I was CRAVING calm and peace energies having been touring straight for the last 2/3 months.

Every weekend we are somewhere new, and it’s so exciting and beautiful to watch our movement grow, meet real fans etc, and at the same time it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done; mentally and physically. Have you seen the video on YouTube where MJ talks about touring? Yes, that’s EXACTLY what it’s like. Straight overwhelming pandemonium and you have to be “on” all the time.

This level of output has definitely increased my anxiety, and it gets really tough some nights to push through performances, but I’ve decided to look at it as an incredible opportunity to grow and understand new depths about myself as I go through this journey.

In this song before I sing my verse I say, “you got this baby…” 🎶 That line wasn’t supposed to be in the song, usually when I record in the studio and I start to feel anxious thoughts or feelings about the future I’ll sing encouraging lines to myself to centre my mind. I always edit them out after cuz who wants to hear that… but I figured I’d leave it in this time and maybe the real authentic energy of that line would transpire in helping to settle some people’s minds out there too.

Overall I hope these works give you and the rest of my S!CK SOC!ETY the serotonin and motivation you need to make your lives as beautiful as possible. I’m always in your corner 😷💜 Spread the sickness… the right kind!!!

Sickick, never forget that even when you're doing what you love and are passionate about, it's still a job, and all jobs require vacation and time off. If you're working for yourself or a studio, you are the employee and it's as simple as once a week, marking down 8-10 hours of vacation time. Once you acquire a week, or two weeks of vacation time in a year, take a vacation.

Self-care is easy to set aside when the career is high, and you're further ahead than most that you could do this line of work until retirement age. So be sure you soak in the time off.
