Here is a video tutorial on how to install Automat's Minecrift mod for the HTC Vive.

"This is a modified version of the Minecrift VR mod that focuses on the Vive and room scale VR. It adds a teleporting method of locomotion and tracked controller support to interact with the world.

This mod uses phr00t's JOpenVR wrapper from his JMonkeyVR project. Be sure to check that out! Thanks also go to StellaArtois, Mabrowning and everyone else who worked on the Minecrift mod."

I do not know if that installer will break/expire. Use it as a last resort.

Seriously, thank you for this from the bottom of my heart. My oldest son turns ten in a few days and is a huge Minecraft fan. Having just recently gotten the Vive for myself, he's loving VR as well. This will make an awesome birthday gift for him!

Guys, Minecrift, as in this Video, doesn't work anymore.
I tried today, followed all the steps in the Video and it didn't work (it couldn't download several of the files on the install.py and build.py steps).
Just go there, download the installer, follow the prompts and it works like a charm. Super simple.
Now, my son and I will disappear from the real world for a while.
(Brad, thanks a lot for the video, I'm sure it worked when you made it and it surely popularised the mod to evolve into Vivecraft. Awesome video man!)

Followed the steps and eventually had to rely on your installer, but after that it worked out instantly, thanks so much for your effort, VR Minecraft really feels and looks awesome haha! :)

If the exe isn't showing up after running build.py on Windows 10, try these steps. I'm not sure if all of them are necessary, but mine worked after doing all of them:

1. Delete your minecraft_vive_1_7_10 folder and re-extract it so you have a clean start
2. Do a search for "*.py" in your minecraft_vive_1_7_10 folder
3. Right click each .py file and at the bottom of the "General" tab, check the "Unblock" box. (there should be 9 .py files to update)
4. Press Win+X and select "Command Prompt (Admin)"
5. In the elevated command prompt, type "cd <folder name>", replacing <folder name> with your full minecraft_vive_1_7_10 folder path and hit enter
6. Type install.py and hit enter, wait for it to finish
7. Type build.py and hit enter, wait for it to finish

It wasn't working at first because I had SteamVR open. Probably should mention that in your tutorial because I think it's an easy mistake for people to make!

This worked perfectly. Minecraft VR is amazing, it's so much fun. I am curious about mods and texture packs and whether or not all of that stuff works the same. Going to have to try it.

Dude! Thanks for the compiled .exe. I tried for over an hour to make it work, but when i used the .py files the .exe just didn't show up. But I downloaded yours and it works :)
