My Murray cod fishing rod and reel set up

Recently I made a video about my trout rod and reel set up, and since then I have had a number of people asking me about my Murray cod rod and reel set up, and if I could please make a similar video walking people through my Murray cod fishing rod and reel set up.
Finally today I had the chance to film this video. I hope you like it and I hope that it answers the questions on some peoples lips.
There are different shaped fishing rods and reels for a reason, because there are so many variables in fishing.
Remember that my Murray cod fishing is done mainly in smaller waterways and shore based, or wading with a little bit of kayak fishing as well.

Robbie your a breath of fresh air. Your great at explaining everything. Your a natural. I use 50lb braid as backing on my fly reels. It never rots it just sits there waiting patiently until i hit the big one that brings me into the backing. It gives me confidence. Thanks Robbie for your great channel and all your great videos. Are you not worried about using 50lb braid on a 6kg rod?? Is that ok to do Im sort of new to fishing and curious I'm doing a fishing trip soon but was told not to go over the line class ? So most of my rods are 3-5 kg so could I comfortably use 30-50lb??

Great vid mate. You really caught my attention when you mentioned how you like to use high gear ratio reels, ive just purchased 3 new reels 1 is the Abu Garcia mgxtreme 2 with an 8:0:1 gear ratio and another is the Abu Garcia premier with a 6:6:1 gear ratio which one do you think would be better for my cod set up going by the gear speed on them.

Hey Robbie i have been having issues with my braid and i was looking at trying fins braid. just wondering what type of fins is the one you use. noticed there were acouple differant types of fins braid. eg the evo and the original. Thanks mate
