Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 Hands-On: Two New Zoom Lenses!

The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is here. It's slightly thinner and lighter than the Mix Fold 2, and gets two new zoom lenses: a 3.2X telephoto and 5X Periscope, both with OIS and Leica lenses. The main camera also got an upgrade to the Sony IMX800 with a f/1.8 aperture. There's also a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip here that's the same overclocked version as seen in Samsung's 2023 flagships.

I tested this phone's cameras briefly against the Xiaomi 13 Ultra and Galaxy Z Fold 5's cameras. But it's early days. I'll wait until night time to do more testing.

I had the mix fold 2 for over a year now and it held up really well. No case nor screen protector since day 1 and dropped multiple times and all stills good. Google play apps, Google pay, YouTube all works on the phone without any issues and battery life is great. Still last me a day without the need to charge. And not forget about the 67w charging is a game changer for me. Used the original Samsung fold 1 and fold 3 but Xiaomi fold 2 is perfect foldable for me

Im hoping Xiaomi sees potential in selling this globally. I still have my Xiaomi 13 Ultra and definitely enjoy it especially with taking pictures.

I agree with you when you say "US companies are not pushing the boundaries". That's why my motivation in the smartphone field has decreased and are not an enthusiastic anymore. I used to bought all the flagship from Apple and Samsung and now NO THANKS. I have been waiting to see if one day Xiaomi or other chinese brands come here to the market...

The Xiaomi 13 ultra was launched for €1, 500 in Europe. The Xiaomi mix fold 3 is exactly 50% more than the Xiaomi 13 ultra in China. Thus if it launched in Europe it would be €2, 250 if they follow the same pricing strategy as the 13 ultra. That's quite a bit more than the z fold 5 which is probably why they won't bother. It would lose money for them considering they would have to provide after sales service and support in every country they launch it in.

Begging for the day Chinese phone companies enter the US market. We need more quality competition SO BAD. Americans are so close minded with their tech and have such a negative stigma toward Chinese tech, it’s a huge shame
