The Gluggle Jug, or Glug Glug Jug has a really interesting mechanism. And it took way longer to work out how it works than I thought it would.

I do have another chain fountain video in the works by the way. Next vid will be the Q&A I've been promising, then the chain fountain after that.

This is the first time I had even heard of a gluggle jug, and now I want one.

I once made a variation of this for a ceramics project in high school. My physics teacher loved it. My ceramics teacher didn't know what to think of it.

I love steve's process, step 1: see something slightly strange in nature, step 2: google thing, step 3: be disappointed no one has made any animations or diagrams

I bought a gluggle jug at a thrift store years ago and I thought it was a flower vase. It was a beautiful cobalt blue fish. I used it as such for many years and gifted it to a friend that expressed how much she liked it. I had heard the glugging but I also knew it was odd because the shape of the vase was odd but I never imagined it was intentionally created.

I’ve had a gluggle jug for years and had no idea it was a gluggle jug. Can’t wait to put some water in it and listen to it gluggle.

This means you could theoretically make a tuned instrument with different sized gluggle jugs... A glugglespiel.

the way he said "gluggle jug glug bubbles" at 5:17 really shows how much he likes saying that and I find it incredibly wholesome how happy he seems to be able to say that

I feel like it genuinely enriches my life to know they're called 'gluggle jugs'. It's the little things.

The jug looks like a Klein bottle so my guess is the sound comes from water going through the 4th dimension.

I garuntee the very first gluggle jug was purely accidental and terrifying for a moment.

"The gluggle jug glug bubble" will now and forever be the greatest phrase I have ever heard.

in future situations where you plan to break smth open to find out what's inside, try pouring in silicone molding putty (trying to get every part of the inside covered) and let that cure. if you aren't able to remove it by hand, then break the item, and you'll have a cast of the interior of the item/less guesswork to do than reconstructing those pieces.

I couldn't stop laughing after you said "THAT TOUCHES YOUR BUM"

Steve's trouble while he struggles to discover that a double bubble action is responsible for the smug glug of a gluggle jug

This is how I expectec science to be like when I was a kid, and I'm absolutelly delighted watching this. There's something wonderful, like seeing old childhood dreams becoming possible again.

There's a Belgian beer called Kwak that has to be served in a particular rounded bottom glass with long neck, which is placed on a wooden holding. It's designed to glug when you tilt it to drink, so the movement reactivates the beer foam and the subtle flavours. It's delicious, by the way

You had my cat absolutely captivated. He loves drinking water from the faucet, and I could tell that he was trying to figure out how to drink all that liquid you were pouring.
