Clemson Shocks Alabama With 1 Second Left to Win National Championship

Clemson upset Alabama and won the college football national championship, 35-31 in Tampa early Tuesday morning.

Clemson was led by its star quarterback, Deshaun Watson, who threw for 420 yards despite facing a defense heralded as one of the best ever.

With two minutes left, trailing by 3 points, Watson got the ball at his own 32 and started a drive. Nine plays and 68 yards later, with 1 second on the clock, Hunter Renfrow caught a 2-yard pass, and Clemson were the champions.

“I’m speechless right now man,” Watson said after the game. “We worked so hard for it; we fell short last year. This game is not just for me, it’s for all the alumni, the fans, my family in Gainesville.”

And too think that hunter was my highschool teams QB from 9th-12th grade even back then everyone knew he was gonna go pro. His commitment and mentality was next level I swear when he wasn't training he was studying game footage, had even watch out own games and let the team know what's wrong and how to fix it it was amazing to play on the same team as him good luck in the pro bowl #Bravesnatiomforlife

When I was a boy. My mother used to grow carrots and yams. There was this bunny. That kept eating our crops. We tried everything to get rid of that sucker. Could not do it. We could handle them big animals. But not the bunny because that sucker always popped out at the darnest time. I am pretty sure that is how Alabama feel with Renfro. As a Tennessee graduate who has followed College Football since I was a Freshman in 1982, I don't think I have ever been happier to see a team lose a football game.  I was happy for Clemson, but I was thrilled to see Alabama go down even more.
