Insulate Britain: Climate activists block M25 for second time in three days

Police have arrested 15 climate protesters after they blocked parts of the M25, causing huge traffic queues.

Dozens of activists from Insulate Britain, which is demanding Government action on home insulation, stopped traffic at two sections of Britain's busiest motorway on Wednesday for the second time in three days.

They targeted Junction 23 for South Mimms in Hertfordshire and the main carriageway from Junction 8 at Reigate to Junction 9 at Leatherhead, both in Surrey, at around 8am.

Demonstrators sat on the road, while stranded motorists beeped their horns.

The leader of the group hasn't even insulated his own home, but wants the Government to pay for the insulation on all homes.

I wonder how something like the Chinese government would have reacted had these idiots tried to pull the same stunt over there? I`m willing to bet the road wouldn`t have been blocked for more than 5 minutes at most. Why don`t the police react properly and remove them instead of just standing watching the traffic build up and tempers flare?

Why weren't the protestors removed more quickly?

It's illegal to block the highway like that, so why were the police just standing around for long enough for it to cause "travel chaos"?

I suggest everyone who was stuck in that traffic jam makes an official complaint about the police... If they aren't going to do their job properly, let them drown in a sea of paperwork.
