DSS 2021 | Build An Application Using Apache Spark and YugabyteDB

In this live workshop, Wei Wang and Amey Banarse from Yugabyte’s Field Engineering Team will guide you through building Spark 3.x applications using Yugabyte’s YCQL API. This will be using Yugabyte Spark connector to interact with Yugabyte Cloud and demonstrate how Yugabyte supports JSONB data type natively.

At a high-level, you will accomplish the following:
- Reading from YugabyteDB table
- Performing ETL operations
- Writing back to YugabyteDB
- Column pruning and predicate pushdowns
