2 good looking bows! " the right tool, for the job at hand, makes quick work of work", a saying, my Elder, that taught me how n what to build for archery! Just thought I'd share!
Thanks for sharing!

Have you run both bows through a chronograph to see which is faster? Probably lots of competing variables at play. Limb mass versus longer power stroke versus higher draw weight versus stacking versus hysteresis. Etc.

The longer the bow, , the more poundage you get right from the start, , think about cross bow .. Much more draw weight, , but short bolt ( cross bow )will not our range the long bow .

im asking this of bow makers. im just now really getting into this. is there a max draw weight on short self bows. can they be so strong they tear themselves apart. i hav a 42-43 inch ironwood or hornbeam bow and it feels like its going to hav a massive draw, maybe 60#...maybe. should i try to reign it in some say to 45#

Crossbow is too short and not really flexible if bow longer then it must be thicker too that is how to compare longbow and shortbow anyway osage is very flexible wood as like as bamboo and yew
