Great review of a useful tool. Sequre makes some quality soldering irons at reasonable prices. While I'm very happy with my ts100 for all my needs. If I were to buy a replacement iron I would check this out. Looks very capable. 🤓

Gal, how do you connect the iron directly to the lipo charger? Is the intermediate thing a xt-60/30 safety board that we use on drones?

Had this on my list since it first came out, but still on the fence. In a way, i feel it be a great travel charger due to the wattage. That said, most still get away with just using ts100, ts80, or similar. Usually, the only big issue is the battery ground pad, and you can get buy, though not greatly or quickly which can be a problem which this should solve.

What advantage does this offer over a sq001/ts100 for any use case?

Seems like it's too clunky for a portable iron and not fully featured like a workbench station. Plus I noticed you had to stick the control unit to your desk so it wouldn't move around while you used it. Thanks for the review though Gal. Have a great new year. :)

If it is connected to a power supply unit without a protective conductor connection, sensitive electronics must not be soldered with it. It must be a power supply unit with galvanic isolation, or at least a power supply unit with a protective conductor connection. Or use batteries.
