A masterpiece. The whole album is.
I can't ever listen to just one track from "Oceanic", I have to listen to the entire thing from start to finish. It flows so well, and tells its own musical story/journey.

A fantastic band. I had Oceanic and Panopticon on HEAVY rotation back in 05-07.

Oceanic is my Favorite Isis album. This entire album from front to back is Great. I love how it starts. With the song "The Beginning and the End" and the pocket playing of the drums and the woman doing harmonic vocal hums as a layer over the music... Great band.

Probably my favorite ISIS track. When they did their reunion show in LA a few years back they opened with it and it was really special. Amazing track. One of my favorite albums of all time.

The bassist of Isis has one of the best tones. This song has everything that makes Isis amazing

When they kick out the distortion and have that clean section and drop back into one of the heaviest riffs ever. Pure ecstasy.

Possibly the most amazing music I've ever listened to. I felt like my entire life I've been searching for the final sound of music and i found it with this band. I couldn't find anything better after these guys. They are the perfect balance of crushing, melodic, they are like a symphony of the senses. A wall of sound. I feel pure atmosphere through their music they paint pictures for me. The whole oceanic album feels like I'm literally experiencing water and beach. It's pure bliss

So cool that you covered this Geebz, it feels like Isis' legacy is falling into obscurity in recent years. You should check out "So Did We" off of their album "Panopticon." Similar feel but more counterpoint guitars and layers.

ISIS has been one of my favorites for many years now. I think you'd really enjoy a nice slow burn from them. I recommend Holy Tears, and Grinning Mouths.

The Beginning and the End is by far the best song on this album.

You have to check out "In Fiction", "The Beginning and the End" and "Grinning Mouths".

The drumming was great during that guitar riff at the end. Groovy and precise at the same time.

What I love so much about this album is that it sounds like you are out at sea. The really roomy drums, the heavy chorus tinged bass, the guitar tones, the synth sounds, all of it adds to the atmosphere and makes it feel "Oceanic." Matt Bayless produced this album and he did something similar with Mastodon's album Leviathan.

Saw them play this entire album start to finish in London at Koko in July 2006. Best gig ever

Such an awesome band, and the ones that introduced me to post metal when I saw them open for Tool. Was already a fan of bands like Failure and Hum, so it wasn't much of a leap, but it had a fair impact on the music I would end up playing not long after.

I was lucky enough to see Isis play a farewell show in Portland Maine it was incredible and they played my favorite song off of Oceanic "From sinking" to end their set, I'll always remember it.

"The Begining of the End" is my favorite from them. Sadly, my girlfriend and our two cats don't fully agree with my opinion...
