I'm not trying to AVOID surgery. I can't have surgery (weight issues). I'm 75 and I've been in agony for 2 yrs trying to walk because the 6 pros I've seen have told me "sedentary = death in the elderly. Thank you so much for your videos.

Wow, my chiro and MD and the PT did everything the opposite of what you recommended (and charged me lot's). I kept feeling that the pain was my body trying to tell me something. Pushing through the pain never made it better. They want me to walk more and that hurts. My bike is the only thing that feels good. I work as an RD and am now working on diet also (I am also a GAPS Practitioner) stopping the inflammation--no dairy, wheat, chicken stock with lot of cartilage that I puree, etc. I just ordered the program from you and listened to 2 of the videos. All common sense and love that it's all in a package. Amazing! Also going to do Dr. John Sarno's program to release old traumas. Tackling it from all parts of me. When I am healed, I will share my story. Thanks for all you do.

Oh My Goodness. Dr David you are amazing!! I was diagnosed with a labrum tear / inflammation and also have osteo arthritis and mild back stenosis. Saw a physiotherapist who told me to get out and walk. So....the next day I went for several kilometers and almost had to crawl back home. I was in severe pain and in tears. Couldn't walk for a month thereafter. Since then, I have been using a hip unloader brace and doing YOUR exercises such as tightening my glutes and more. I am so happy to say that in about four months I have made significant improvement and now do daily stretches and exercise as well as little walks. Sometimes I catch myself having no thoughts of hip/leg pain when I'm walking. Previously every step was on my radar. Your videos are so valuable. You've given me my life back. Thank you!! ❤💙❤

I started walking about a month ago for 2 weeks. Mostly just a mile a day, maybe a tad more. I have been paying the price. I caught this video just recently. I have started glute exercises. Then started feeling much better because of you. I am so glad I watched your similar videos last week about walking and hip pain as a result. Thank you David as always.

Healing this is S0 Tricky ! Because correcting the muscle imbalance involves those muscles getting sore and hurting and there is a fine line between correcting the imbalance and aggrivating the joints ! This is why your OFF LOADING Concept is KEY ! As I rest and feel better( at my weight I KNOW I need to drop 40lbs and I'm on it) I'd HAVE to go food shopping and THAT'S what would Kill my progress as the weight bearing overload would light my hips on Fire ! As my bodyweight right now is my max weight bearing load so carrying 5lbs or more is instant Hip Fire. I've gotten railroaded enough in my life to know not to waste my time going to an Ortho and going metallic.
You are A BLESSING and Your channel is INVALUABLE !
If I'm ever in El Paso the beer and the brisket in on me. GOD Bless and Keep You💯🙏🏼

You are helping me so much. Even the Dr, that finally told me I have sciatica on top of mild arthritis in both hips and bulging discs agrees with you and your proper approach. I look forward to getting better!

Oh gosh. I have bad left hip pain and started trying to walk on a treadmill to exercise it. It does seem to ease up a little at the time I’m walking but it is then much worse over the following days. I was sent for an MRI scan and got the results this week as Stage 4 osteoarthritis and have been referred to a specialist. I was going to keep doing the walking until I can get an appointment, but having watched this it does seem like a bad idea. I will search your videos to see if you have anything relating to already advanced arthritis. You have probably saved me from a whole load of pain, thank you.

I use trekking poles when i need to "run" arrends, my hip gets irritated if i walk too much. in Finland people use walking poles a lot, it's an ordinary thing, even in cities bc Finns like to burn a few extra calories. I do deep squats, barre exercises, pilates and stuff at home. Squats seem to help a lot my hip problem.Somatic exercises alleviate the pain. Too much walking will lead to pain attack. But im happy bc im doing so much better! Im able to do chores at home, but i certainly have trained a lot. I will be trekking in nature too, nothing big of course, but i know some nice places to go in Lapland with my mom. With poles i won't be sweating of pain after twenty meters. I use poles at home too to avoid limping and irritation on bad hip days. I have taken glucosamine and selenium, i think these have helped so that training brings gaining. For many years i felt that training was absolutely useless. Finally i feel im getting somewhere. This hip thing requires humility and perceverance, nothing is granted. But i can hope.

Does sitting on a chair for hours deteriorate hip OA

Hmmm. What's your take on this...I find that walking is what helps my arthritic hip feel better. My hip deteriorated during the first years of covid, when my workload as a psychologist went into overdrive and went to 100% virtual. Instead of going to my 4 gym classes weekly, I sat and sat and sat. I bought an adjustable desk this year so that in my work, that is still mostly virtual now, I can alternate standing and sitting. Standing offers relief, along with a little movement. I feel better when I get a good, long walk in. I am doing your exercises, still determined to HEAL the hip.

I'm taking meloxicam for my hip arthritis and although it's the only thing that allows me to move pain free, it's also causing my lower leg and feet to swell and that worries me.
Do you suggest a different product?
